We learn in three ways...Awareness, Belief and Knowledge. After a relatively short period of our lives, most of us move beyond the pain of Awareness learning. Because it takes place through reactions to circumstances over which there is little perceived control, it produces little self-confidence development. Once, however, basic needs are being met regularly, human beings can move on to Belief Development as the basis for self-actualization through Achievement. At this level, we set numerous goals...personal, educational, occupational and social...and reach many. However, we find, all too often, that once we reach a goal, we are required to set another and another to maintain our self-confidence...and so it goes.
Achievement is an ever-stressing process, with its frustrations and failures. What we want most is to get off the treadmill of accomplishment and get our lives on purpose and on the road to Authentic Mastery©.
